Margery’s Place

The house beyond the waterfalls is Margery’s Place (Grid Ref SD61669 18090). To the left of the Goit near Margery’s Place were the Margery mines. This is the only photo I have ever seen of Margery’s Place. Thanks to PC Solved on Archive .com Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0

Margery’s Place was situated 50 yards south of the bridge crossing the Goit north of Anglezarke Reservoir. Today there is liitle to see of the place, but its outline is just visible if you

look carefully. It is also visible from above I understand. Heapey Cottage is what is now known as Heapey Waterman’s Cottage
