Living at The Street in 1901 was a cotton manufacturer called David Marriage, his wife Mary (nee Sidebottom) and one of his daughters Mary Pauline. Also living there was their nephew Albert Marriage and several servants. David and Mary Marriage also had two other daughters:- Phyllis Mary and Joyce Mary, both of whom were away at boarding schools in Kents Bank, Lancashire and Leamington Priors, Warwickshire respectively. It was Joyce (at age of 11) that had the headstone erected for her pets. She obviously loved them dearly. Family History David Marriage 1852 - 1922 born in Warwickshire. He married Mary Sidebottom in Dec 1881 Mary Sidebottom 1851? – 1925? Mary Pauline b 1883 m 1905 Phyllis Mary b 1887 Joyce Mary b 12/5/1889 d 25/1/1970 m 1910 to John Winnington. They had two children, Susanne Winnington b14/12/1913 and Patricia Rose Winnington b 16/1/1917.
